Elston Internship program provides hands-on experience

In collaboration with the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School, Elston has offered Internships to UQ students as part of a Work Integrated Learning Program. This program allows students in their penultimate year of study to find voluntary work placement in a firm that will serve as their host for the duration of a semester. As a credited University course, this provides students with an opportunity to observe and participate in Elston’s day-to-day operations, projects and functions, while completing an additional unit of their Business Degree.

The students will undertake approximately 100 hours of placement, maintain a weekly journal, write an Academic Research Essay and complete a presentation reflecting on their experience with Elston. This is a fantastic opportunity for soon-to-be graduates to test themselves in a professional environment and develop key transferable skills, while completing their education. Contributing from day one, they will receive training and development, plus a hands-on mentor to support them throughout the program.

The Intern will gain exposure to the various services offered by Elston including asset management, private client and advisory services. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to work on projects including portfolio management, security analysis, portfolio risk management, financial and investment advisory and wealth planning services.
